Defininition Pteregium
Pteregium is the growth of connective tissue in the bulbar conjunctiva fibrovaskuler intrapalpebra with extension into the cornea that is degenerative. Pteregium triangular with a peak in the central part of the cornea and basically in the peripheral cornea, usually located at the slit eyelid nasal or temporal conjunctiva that extends onto the cornea. Pterigium can grow large enough to interfere with vision and often cause the eyes to become red, sore, and painful, especially when environmental conditions dry, dusty or windy.

Therapy and Treatment Pteregium
-There is no specific treatment
-Surgery:
Surgical removal of corneal transplants, partial thickness required when pteregium interesting and interfere with the view axis. 30-50% of patients relapse after surgery pteregium
Equity-recurrent
- The operation is performed in the event of a sharp deterioration in vision or impaired cosmetic (aesthetic)
- If the inflammation can be given steroid eye drops or decongestants
